ERBIUM LASER SKIN RESURFACING  

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is a procedure specifically designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face. The Erbium laser produces less heating or burning of surrounding tissues than other lasers used for resurfacing. This allows your Practitioner to gently and comfortably vaporize the damaged skin cells layer by layer. Most cases require only a local or topical anesthetic. Your practitioner will review your medical history, age, skin type and pigmentation, consider your desired results, and determine the best course of treatment for you. Results will vary from patient to patient depending on age, skin type and condition.

TITAN™ by CUTERA™

TITAN™ by CUTERA™ is a revolutionary skin and collagen tightening system that effectively improves skin looseness and stimulates long-term collagen rebuilding. Clinical results confirm improvement in better than 90 percent of the patients treated. When compared to radio wave thermal technology, TITAN™ has been shown to be at least twice as effective. Focus Body Spa is one of the few places in Southern California where this technology is available. The TITAN™ procedure treats sagging and redundant skin throughout the body including the abdomen and thighs, and is also used to tone, lift, and tighten the skin on the face. TITAN™ is without peer as a treatment for the loose and "crepe'y'" skin often found on older necks and is very effective for the sagging skin found under upper arms. Based on infrared energy delivered safely through a sapphire tip, TITAN™ tightens the skin and reverses the signs of aging safely, comfortably, and without downtime. Two treatments a month apart are recommended and no anesthesia is necessary. The procedure does not require the use of  safety eyewear.

After an initial evaluation of the health of the skin and the underlying collagen, a thin layer of aloe gel is gently spread on the area to be treated to facilitate the movement of the treatment head. The area is treated in dime-sized segments. When the treatment head is applied, the patient feels an initial cooling and a short heating cycle followed by a cooling phase. Each cycle lasts approximately six seconds and multiple passes are typically used. The brow, lower face, and neck can usually be treated in an hour.

At the conclusion of the treatment, sunscreen is applied. There is no downtime and no specific after care is required. Results begin to be apparent by the conclusion of the treatment and continue to build over the next 12 weeks. Best results are obtained when the procedure is repeated in four weeks.  Skin tightening has been shown to last up to two years.  

THERMAGE

The Thermage procedure is the only non-invasive treatment that delivers tighter skin, renewed facial contours and healthier collagen. (Collagen is the building block that provides structure to your skin.) The Thermage procedure employs a patented radiofrequency (RF) technology called ThermaCool™. It has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. The incision-free procedure is fast and easy, and requires no downtime from normal activities. Unlike lasers, the procedure can be performed on patients of all skin types. The ThermaCool device has been cleared by the FDA for the non-invasive treatment of facial wrinkles and rhytids.

The ThermaCool system uses a sophisticated treatment tip called ThermaTip™, which delivers a controlled amount of RF energy. With each touch to the skin, the ThermaTip device uniformly heats a large volume of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue while simultaneously protecting the outer layer of the skin with cooling. This deep uniform heating action causes deep structures in your skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new and remodeled collagen is produced to further tighten skin, resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.

The Thermage procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure. Most people return to their regular activities immediately following the Thermage procedure. Some people experience mild redness (like a sunburn), but it usually disappears quickly. No special care is needed after treatment unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
